Parkgate Hotel

The Parkgate Hotel, Cardiff’s newest luxury destination on Westgate Street, reimagines two historic landmarks, the former Head Post Office and County Court. A collaboration with the WRU and the Celtic Collection, it features a signature restaurant, elegant tea lounge, and rooftop spa with sweeping city views.

Enhancing the interiors, the Essex Armchair and the Essex Bar Stool, designed by Javier Gomez introduces a cosmopolitan character inspired by New York. Handcrafted in ash wood, finished in brown pewter, and upholstered in cotton velvet, the collection brings refined craftsmanship and contemporary elegance to Cardiff’s historic charm.

The project was completed in partnership with Castlebrook Furniture, specialists in interior furniture fit-outs for hospitality spaces. With decades of experience, Castlebrook works closely with designers and clients to ensure each project achieves the perfect balance between design integrity, quality craftsmanship, and functional excellence.

The Essex Collection includes- a sofa, lounge chair, armchair, counter stool, bar stool, and daybed– allowing designers to furnish suites, lounges, and private residences with a single, unified collection.
